A Reminder for Violin Parents
Violins will be performing on the Dec 17 Winter Concert. The whole group will play just 2 pieces: “The Lonely Fiddle” and “On a Tropical Island Practicing Violin” Younger primarians will play a modified version of Tropical Island which they mostly have already learned. I would appreciate if students will practice these pieces during the Thanksgiving break.
And speaking of practicing, I would like to remind parents that to be successful at violin children absolutely need help from their parents, both to set practice times and also to understand the lessons in the book.
The beginning of the book contains practical advice for parents. Additionally I would welcome emails from any parents who have questions about how they can help their children with violin. My email address is: tasgalmusic@yahoo.com. Thanks, David Tasgal

First Graders Take Violins Home Today
Younger primary students will be bringing home their violins for the first time, so they can practice at home. They are also receiving books for them to keep. Parents please read the introduction for parents in the front of the books, so they can help students learn at home. Violins should be brought into school every Wednesday and then brought home on Fridays. Books can stay at home.
