Note From Francie 3/20/08
There are big changes in store for MES next year. After 18 years, Jodi will be leaving us. I was not happy to accept her letter of resignation but I know she’s thought long and hard and that it’s the right thing for her at this time. Please join me in wishing her well and thanking her for all she’s given to the school and to each of us.
Of course, this means we will be hiring a new 3rd-4th grade teacher for next year. I need a parent to be part of the hiring committee. This includes reviewing applications and participating in the interviews. Most of this work will take place at the end of April and beginning of May. Please call me if you are interested.

Congratulations to David’s class for their performances of Greek myth shadow puppet plays! These plays were written and produced by the students. The stories were interesting and engaging and the presentation was excellent. Stop by David’s room during the Learning Fair for a peek behind the scenes – a video of the kids at work behind the screen.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all at Student Led Conferences on Friday. All the kids are busy selecting work and reflecting on what they’ve learned. You have a treat in store for you!
And, looking ahead, be sure to put the Learning Fair on your calendar - Monday, March 31, 6:30-8. This is an opportunity to see the learning that’s going on all over the school.
