Note from Francie, Nov. 16, 2007
Ellen, David, Tim, and I packed in a lot at the Coalition of Essential Schools Fall Forum. We visited the Odyssey School where students and teachers talk about “learning targets” and discuss their progress towards these targets at the beginning and end of each lesson. We attended workshops on math assessment, the importance of play, classroom video work, school newsletters, and more. We also presented workshops to other educators from all over the country. And we’re glad to be home!
This edition of Friday Notes is also packed – with information on Winter Sports and our Healthy Snack Program. Please read all of the attachments carefully, fill out the paperwork, and return it no later than Tuesday, November 27.
I’m back on track with Friday coffee and tea. Please join us for Sing and then stop by the office for conversation and community.
There will be no Friday Notes next week, so I’ll take this opportunity to let you know the thankfulness I feel for your children and for your support of our fine little school. May Thanksgiving bring you time to both receive and express gratitude.
