Note from Francie, Oct. 17, 2007
These past two weeks have been the most challenging I can remember – for me and, I’m sure, for all of you. We’ve all had difficult decisions to make – made all the more difficult because we’ve gotten different information from different people and changing information from the same people as the pertussis has spread. I know that each one of you has thought long and hard about the medical treatment your child should get and whether or not s/he should be in school. Please read Susan’s update below. Thank you for being thoughtful, for seeking answers, and for supporting each other and the school as we get through this – and we will get through it. The four day weekend will help. Our vigilance will continue when school starts again on Monday.
The next playground workday is rescheduled for Saturday, October 27, 9-noon. By then we will have the materials needed to work on the framing and decking. Dave Snyder, Izzy’s dad, has already donated the locust used for the uprights. He’s now donating even more that will be milled to use for other parts of the structure. Thank you, Dave!
At Monday’s P&F meeting we came up with some good ideas for fun activities and fundraisers. I’ll write up a complete report of the meeting for next week’s notes. Thank you to the enthusiastic parents who attended.
Next Monday at 6:45pm in the Junior High our parenting class, “Creating a No-Fault Zone Home” will begin. About eight parents registered this week and there is still space available. Please call Wendy Webber or school to put your name on the list. A flyer with additional information is attached.
Welcome Baby Rosner! Frida reported to the Primary Class today that she has a new baby sister. Congratulations to the whole family!
On Sunday morning David’s class heads off for a week of learning and living on Cape Cod. Have a great trip!
