P&F stands for Parents and Friends. P&F includes parents, teachers and other friends of the school.
P&F’s main purpose is to provide a means for parents to meet other parents and discuss issues of mutual concern.
P&F sponsors fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for special teacher/classroom/ program requests that are beyond the means of the regular school budget.
For the 2008-2009 school year, P&F provided funds for the following school-wide events, classroom projects/trips, parent evenings and social gatherings.
At a school-wide level and in the classrooms:
- a Mad Science Assembly for grades K-6
- the “Music in the Schools” program through the Brattleboro Music Center
- a book donation to the MES Library
- Math Bag sets for the Kindergarten classroom
- a projector screen and fraction circles for the Primary classroom
- a Grow Lab and garden tools for the 3rd/4th classroom’s garden project
- contributions for the 5th/6th class’s Marlboro Community Interviewing project and trip to NYC
- contribution for the Junior High class trip to Washington, DC
